This series of work started with the idea of producing small affordable sculptures loosely based on the seaside.
The figures are all clothed and are light hearted in nature. Most wear sunglasses either to emphasize the holiday feeling or to give them something to hide behind. Shoes, jewelry, handbags etc. add to the narrative of the pieces.
Sara trained under Ken Hughes, a pupil of Henry Moore, at Bath Academy of Art. There she achieved a first class honours degree in Sculpture and was awarded the Henry Moore Foundation Scholarship in 1982.
