‘You Cannot Step Into The Same River Twice’ is a video and photography exhibition being held at the Pumphouse Gallery, that explores the history of the River Thames. The title for the exhibition, having been taken from a quote by Heraclitus, showcases the artworks of international artists Alia Syed, Ellie Ga and Laura Pawela. The exhibition aims to look at the ‘reliability of documentary forms and devices’ through the use of intersecting narratives, historical and pictorial evidence and first hand recollections of events.

As part of the Totally Thames 2014 programme of art, environment and community based events taking place in London this month, the exhibition is supported by the Arts Council.

The exhibition runs until October 12th, 2014.
