Barry Wilson is a UK-based contemporary artist renowned for his innovative gold-leaf works. He trained at the Camberwell School of Art and was mentored by acclaimed artists including Bruce McLean, Cornelia Parker, Jock McFadyen and Ian McKeever. Wilson has developed a distinctive style that combines acrylics, gold leaf and industrial techniques, such as spray guns, scouring pads and water jets, to build layered surfaces that evoke a sense of vintage photography and memory. He has gained the opportunity to exhibit internationally in major galleries and museums. He was the recipient of the Saatchi Gallery Award in 2012 and was selected to exhibit at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2024–2025.
