Apollo and Daphne by Marco Araldi

With a background in engineering and architecture, Marco Araldi is demonstrably comfortable with both mathematical design and geometry. Naturally drawn to cartography, he applies traditional techniques such as Cartesian and Polar System Coordinates, whilst being deeply influenced by astronomy and navigation. Working with ink, gold leaf, acrylic paint and watercolours on canvas, he often uses sea, star and solar charts to bring authenticity and precision to each of his creations.
