Blacks and Reds, Paris by Mario Garcia Miro

My painting style is like a visual journey between the retro and the iconic, with a pop-art twist that’s always aiming to steal a smile. I love filling my canvases with vibrant colors and crisp lines because, honestly, who needs subtleties when the world is already full of grays? My compositions feel like inviting your favorite idols into your living room or stepping into a retro café where time seems to have stopped. For instance, in one piece, I might place you in front of the majestic Big Ben while you lounge on a vintage sofa packed with cult-favorite details (yes, the kind you instantly recognize!). In another, I give you a window to the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, but with a cozy, homey warmth that makes you want to stay and read by the fire for a while. Then there are my more nostalgic pieces, like a classic American diner where the checkered floors and red stools practically take centerstage. There, you can imagine yourself listening to rock & roll while sipping a coffee—everyday moments have their own charm too! Each piece is my way of paying tribute to moments, places, and objects that, in one way or another, have been etched into our collective memory. Plus, I adore playing with open perspectives that invite you to step into the scene, as if you’re part of a movie blending modern vibes with nostalgia. In short, I paint worlds you’d probably want to move into if you could… and don’t blame me if you end up wanting to decorate your home like my paintings!
